St Agatha’s is one of 445 organisations in England which have been awarded cash from the first round of the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage.
During the severe rainfall in March and April 2020 the roof of St Agatha’s let in water at a number of points, and the interior of the building and its furniture and artefacts, including the organ, were in grave danger. We are delighted to announce that we been awarded a grant of £17,628.00, which represents some 80% of the estimated cost of the remedial work.
The Culture Recovery Fund is administered by Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and we are very grateful to them for the grant. It will enable us to preserve our magnificent Grade 1 Listed building and continue our programme of providing a cultural and educational resource in the heart of a diverse and very deprived community
