Our patronal festinal was celebrated on Saturday 8th Feb. We were fortunate  to have as principal celebrant and preacher the Bishop of Oswestry , Bp Paul Thomas. The concelebrated mass featured the confirmation of five people of very different ages. Mass was followed by a splendid buffet, catechesis and veneration of the relic of Saint Agatha. We were joined  by other churches in the Midlands - the event being designated as a regional festival of the See of Oswestry.

A very warm welcome to St Agatha's and St Barnabas churches:

  • a welcoming all-age worshipping community drawn from the parish, the diocese and beyond
  • a growing , diverse and  friendly congregation
  • famous for its long and venerable catholic tradition
  • a breathtaking building - a spiritual powerhouse and a powerful landmark symbol of Christianity towering over the Stratford Road
  • a Forward-in-Faith parish
  • two churches - St Agatha's on Stratford Road and the more intimate St Barnabas on Ladypool Road
  • the only English church to contain a relic of Saint Agatha.
