Made by Gillettt and Johnston in 1901 when the building was new, it failed spectacularly in December 2018 with hands turning at 60 times normal speed. We were lucky enough to receive a grant for Smiths of Derby to take the mechanism away and fully repair it. Unfortunately more work was suggested as being necessary and the extra was too much for us to afford, so reluctantly we have had to leave it showing 12 noon all the time.

The final stage of restoring the magnificent St Agatha's organ started in late March. Nicholsons of Malvern have taken the cónsole away. It will return in June with new switching and valves, so it can carry on sounding so magnificent. There is now a large hole where hundreds od wires connected the console and pipes.
